Metallurgy

There are a variety of options for the conductors used in our cables:

  • Oxygen Free Copper (OFC) - The Gold standard for professional audio transmission. Uncolored, clear transmission of audio signals.  Providing performance at a good price.

  • Silver Plated Oxygen Free Copper (SPOFC) - Plating the OFC conductors in silver offers a slight boost in the vocal range of the sound spectrum.  Making them suitable for microphone cables and other communication transmissions or those with taste for vocal oriented music genres.

  • Ohno Continuous Cast Copper (OCC) - A manufacturing process that allows for the copper to  form in larger crystals.  This minimizes the number of boundaries the electrons have to cross as it transits through the conductor.  This results in a smoother, more articulate signal transfer.

  • Silver Plated OCC (SPOCC) - Merging the benefits of the prior two metal types.  Silver plating over the Ohno Continuous Cast allows for a pure sound and clarity in the vocal ranges. Close to the performance of Silver at a lower price.

  • Pure Silver Conductors - The fastest conductor of electricity.  Offering a more pronounced benefit similar to SPOFC and SPOCC, pure silver offers very clean and fast signal transmission.  An expensive upgrade given the rarity of silver, but considered by some to be the pinacle of audio transmission performance.

Sleeving Options 340px.webp

Sleeving

There are several options for the sleeving used to protect your cable investment.  With many color options, you can choose the style that suits you.  All sleeving options are non-microphonic, meaning it will minimize the transmission of sound while handling or moving.

Length

We offer a wide range of lengths available to suit your needs.  If you need a specific length not available on the website, contact us and we will prepare a quote for you.

It is recommended to keep single ended, unbalanced cable lengths as short as possible to minimize signal attenuation.  Balanced transmissions are more forgiving with longer lengths.  If you require long lengths for your studio, consider using balanced transmissions as much as possible.
